Mario Basurto and Shantel Leary envisioned a grass-roots philosophy of empowerment and public service for Nuestra Raza.

Among its offerings are Spanish classes geared toward social service and nonprofit agencies.

We are an organization that was founded solely on the basis of not maintaining or accepting the underutilization of local resources that are available to the Hispanic immigrant.  Like an immigrant, we here at Nuestra Raza take risks.  We offer bold services and programs that cannot be found anywhere else.

As a whole, our organization aims to meet the needs of our entire community in a way that is over the top and directly impacting the issues at hand.
